This is not your typical whittlin' class!
Pictured here are Chuck Butterworth and Alvin Butterworth, both exceptionally adept and talented with just about any kind tool. The process shown is the tedious work necessary to construct White Cedar hand-hewn stair banisters, hand rails, and vertical pickets. After many hours of specialized craftsmanship, hand sanding and numerous layers of sealer followed by multiple coats of glossy lacquer, the final product is exceptionally unique; no 2 sets ever look the same, though all are spectacular works of art.
Chuck is the Project Manager for Sugarwood Homes, and Alvin is the father that shared his many years of master cabinetry and trim carpentry skills with son Chuck.
