Pictured here is the Sawgrass model, a ranch style home with 1800 square feet on the main level, and an additional 1800 square feet in the basement. This plan is excellent for those building lots that are somewhat steep. The less you have to move down the mountain, the better off (and less expensive) you will be.
The garage configuration pictured features a single car garage and a workshop area. Through the utilization of a retaining wall, most lots suited for basements could facilitate a 2 car garage.
The roof design is fairly simple, straightforward, and cost effective with only the gable porch breaking up the ridge line. The 10 foot by 60 foot porch and open deck combination located on the rear of the home allows the interior spaces to spill outside, as the great room has 2 outswinging French-patio doors leading onto the porch, and the master bedroom has 1 set of French-patio doors providing access to the porch.
The addition of a gazebo for that hot tub is easily added to this plan. The roof is best suited for architechural/dimensional style shingles, or you may choose a metal roof if you are so inclined. Like all basements, the owner can choose to have Sugarwood Homes finish the space, or as most folks do, taking their time to decide exactly how they want to use the space.
Again, like all of our models, we emphasize the use of efficient low-E fixed glass in the gables and other wall spaces in order to maximize natural light and to provide as many differing views of the outside environment as possible.
