HC and PW recently became permanent residents of Brasstown, a quaint community on the outskirts of Murphy, and home to many well known artists and folk art enthusiasts, not to mention John C. Campbell Folk School.
H and P designed their own house plans in which they incorporated a roomy 2 car garage for their Mini Cooper, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, cherry cabinets and solid surface counters for the kitchen, tile floors in the bathrooms, an oversized great room, a floor to ceiling fireplace flanked by custom built Hickory book shelves, tongue and groove cathedral ceilings in the great room, kitchen, and bedrooms, as well as Oak hardwood floors throughout. The mud room features a stand alone sink/tub for washing the pooch, a washer/dryer area, additional shelves for storage, and custom cabinetry for even more storage and work surfaces. With a little less than 1400 square feet under heat and air (not including the oversized garage which incorporates permanent stairs to access a large storage area), The front entry is accented by the gabled porch, which then wraps around the front corner to an open deck, and finally adjoining the rear covered porch which runs nearly the entire length of the home.
H and P desired a focal accent for the entry, hence, we installed a handsome custom built oval-shaped glass window over the front door. The exterior of the home, which is log sided, will be stained with the TimberFlex 2-step staining process
Like all of our projects, we handled the entire excavation and construction process, including the installation of the new well, the septic system, and the entire utilities package.
